• Challenge

  This client owns and manages around 3,000 cash machines, located in UK gaming outlets, which had become targets for relentless thieves. We were briefed to design a permanent solution that could be fitted on-site by the client’s usual engineers in a half-hour time slot, using tools, fixtures and fittings already there. Every day that passed without a solution cost our client money and risked their good reputation.

• Solution

  Once we knew the very specific parameters of the brief, we were able to use our experience to draw up concepts, develop a solution into a working drawing, rapid prototype and refining of the design. The design and development team generated drawings using Additive Manufacturing, which includes Solid Edge/Auto Desk CAD CAM Software, the prototypes were created in our 3D print suite.

• Outcome

  Our prototype was put into full scale production within four weeks of being briefed, delivered on time and within budget. The component was subsequently installed on machines across the UK by the client’s own engineers, putting an end to the theft and preserving their integrity as trusted partners. We support their in-house design team with our own expertise and in-house resources - flexibly, collaboratively and economically, getting to the heart of their briefs and inventing ways to bring their ideas into being.
