A design for a secure, cashless betting kiosk.

Overview

Our client provided us with a concept and internal components for a cashless betting kiosk. We developed 3D models, produced laser cut prototypes and generated full manufacturing drawings for production. The end product is an innovative and easy-to-use interface for users, and built-in levels of security for maintenance engineers. It is now being used in gaming outlets across the UK.

  • Challenge

Our client came to us with a concept and internal components for a cashless betting kiosk, a growing trend in the gaming industry. The kiosks, with a £30 limit, allow our customer to support responsible gambling; they are also anti money-laundering, secure from thefts and more cost effective to process payments. The finished product had to be stylish, compact and incorporate secure features.

  • Solution

Using Solid Edge\Autodesk 3D CAD, we developed 3D models and produced laser cut prototypes. After testing and refinement, we were able to generate full manufacturing drawings to supply to the customer. We manufactured the kiosk casing, which would house the supplied components, and trained the client’s engineers to assemble the end products.

  • Outcome

The end product has clean lines and looks like an innovative and easy-to-use interface for its users. Built into the kiosk casing design are different levels of security for maintenance engineers. It is now being used in gaming outlets across the UK.

  • Fabricon were instrumental in helping us win contracts.

“We have collaborated with Fabricon Design on several designs over the last 13 years. Fabricon Design were instrumental in helping us to win contracts with a number of complete products, including an electric power tower, a horse racing betting kiosk and a kiosk to produce tickets for contactless card payments, as well as a number of much smaller projects that were used to update existing designs.” - Dave, Director, Embedded Solutions.
