Fabricon General Manager Completes Coniston Off-Road Triathlon for Action Medical Research

Fabricon’s General Manager Completes Coniston Off-Road Triathlon to Support Action Medical Research

Fabricon is proud to celebrate the achievement of our General Manager, Matt, who, alongside Andy, a close friend, successfully completed the challenging Coniston Off-Road Triathlon in support of the children’s charity, Action Medical Research.

Taking place in the heart of the Lake District, the Coniston Off-Road Triathlon is renowned as one of the UK’s toughest endurance events. Combining open-water swimming, mountain biking and fell running, competitors face both physical and mental challenges against the backdrop of some of the country’s most spectacular scenery.

Smashing Their Target

Matt and Andy  set themselves an ambitious goal of completing the event in under eight hours. Through determination, preparation and teamwork, they not only achieved their target but exceeded it, crossing the finish line in an impressive 6 hours and 31 minutes.

Competing against 42 teams, they secured a highly respectable 12th-place finish overall, demonstrating outstanding commitment and endurance throughout the day.

Raising Funds for Action Medical Research

While completing the challenge was a significant achievement, the primary motivation behind taking part was to raise funds for Action Medical Research, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of babies, children and young people through medical research.

Founded over 70 years ago, Action Medical Research has played a key role in funding breakthroughs that have transformed children’s healthcare. Research supported by the charity has helped develop treatments and interventions for conditions including premature birth, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, meningitis and rare diseases.

Today, the charity continues to fund innovative research projects aimed at tackling some of the most difficult medical challenges affecting children and families across the UK.

Through the generosity of colleagues, customers, suppliers, friends and family, Matt and Andy are on track to raise more than £1,400 for the charity. Across the event as a whole, participants helped generate over £75,000 to support Action Medical Research’s vital work.

Supporting Communities Beyond Construction

At Fabricon, we believe success is measured not only by what we achieve as a business but also by the positive impact we make within our communities. Matt’s participation in the Coniston Off-Road Triathlon reflects the values of dedication, teamwork and commitment that underpin everything we do.

We are incredibly proud of Matt’s achievement and grateful to everyone who has contributed to this fantastic fundraising effort.
